History of Saratoga Woods
Developer R.J. Thieneman purchased the property that is now Saratoga Woods from Cumberland Federal Savings Bank in January 1993.  Development began almost immediately and construction of homes began in late 1993.  Saratoga Woods was one of the featured neighborhoods for Homearama the following summer, drawing much attention and interest.

At the time of initial development, lots were being sold for as little as $33,900, with home prices in the $140,000 - $195,000 range.  Although prices have changed over the years, one of the major selling features of the Saratoga Woods development remains true today: existing natural landscape with many mature trees.
Development of The Estates of Saratoga Woods began in the late 1990’s in two sections.  The Estates featured slightly larger lots and thus larger homes.  Again, natural features were highlighted allowing fall-away lots with plenty of mature trees.  By the time section two of the Estates was completed in the early 2000’s, an additional 130 homesites were added to the already developed four sections of Saratoga Woods, for a total of 661 homes.
Although the development is now complete, Saratoga Woods remains an attractive and desirable place to call home.  Its convenience, safety, location, and natural features remain as desirable today as when first developed.
